Burns in the Kitchen was born in 2019 during a season that changed our family forever. A parent and our oldest daughter began facing serious health challenges that forced us to take a hard look at what we were eating and how it was affecting our bodies. With the full support of our family, we committed to a journey of healing through food.After walking through a strict elimination diet free from gluten, dairy, soy, eggs, and refined sugar, something remarkable happened. Energy returned. Symptoms eased. Clarity followed. Food became the solution, not the problem.
The challenge? We love food. And finding meals outside the home that met our standards and dietary needs was nearly impossible. So we did what any determined family would do. We went back to the kitchen.
We tested recipes, swapped ingredients, failed loudly, burned plenty of pans, and learned fast. Over time, we cracked the code and transitioned our entire family to a lifestyle free from gluten, lactose, soy, peanuts, and refined sugar without sacrificing flavor or joy.
Our passion lives at the intersection of family, fitness, faith, and food. Instead of talking about what’s broken in our healthcare system, we chose to take action. Burns in the Kitchen was built without private investors or bank loans, funded entirely by our family because we believe this deeply:
